One of the benefits of heading into the colder weather is the opportunity it gives us to layer up. Brushed cotton over cotton jersey, woollen knitwear over chambray, all topped off with tweed, or a warm waterproof. Now we can put on hats and caps, a bright new scarf, break in those new brogues… but what about the legs, we hear you ask? With shorts stowed away for another year, we are talking about corduroy and twill, denim and drill, needlecord, wool and tweed, yes, gentlemen it is indeed… Pants Time!

If we had to select one item that represents our work at Trouser Towers, it would be our County Cords. Donegal Tweed Pants

When we think of winter, we think of Tweed: natural, warm and organic. As Irish as the River Eske, Donegal Tweed has been the lifeblood of that town since Paddy McGinty's goat exploded. While those clever Irish weavers make a fine pair of pants, they also make jackets and vests for the full Monty*.

If, a few years ago, our pants designer had suggested a 'drawstring waist' on anything other than pajamas, they might have been summarily dismissed. However, we noticed that they have become fashionable with the 'young blades' which has led us to reconsider; we are traditional, but not averse to progress! These drawstring pants are almost indecently comfortable but, in this season's luxurious needlecord version, warm and stylish too. Unconstructed and unconstricted, they are as comfortable as your PJs, but will not raise an eyebrow in the pub!
